As an electrical instrumentation system designer (Part 1)

I was involved in this project from the design stage as a person in charge of practical design related to electrical instrumentation. This project had many meetings with the customer. Every month, we explained the completed design drawings to the customer.
　Normally, we do not have meetings for explanation as frequently as this one. We tried to explain things ranging from what the customer wanted to know to electrical work methods in an easy-to-understand manner so that the customer could gain a deeper understanding of our equipment.

I stationed at the installation site for about four months, from the final check of electrical work to the test operation and witnessing of production. Nearly 20 members were involved in the test operation for this project at times, if the persons in charge from the suppliers were included.
There were about 10 members already from our company for a certain period. To make communication easier, we tried to dine out together and deepen our friendships when opportunities arose. Occasionally, we ate out with not only the members from our company but also other people involved in the project to strengthen friendships.

On holidays, I sometimes played catch regardless of the position at work. Just before the completion of the test operation, we had a softball game with the persons in charge of the customer company. Since the atmosphere was very good, we were able to smoothly communicate not only among our company members but also with the customer and other people involved in the project.
In this kind of environment, the test operation was successfully conducted as scheduled. The test operation adjustment results were more than satisfactory, so it was a good experience.

As an electrical instrumentation system designer (Part 2)

This project brought together members who wanted to squeeze out maximum technologies, skills, knowledge, and ideas we had at that point and offer good products to the world. I realized that the energy of collaboration was enormous and powerful. It also gave me the strength to confront any difficulties.

At the same time, I enjoyed my work more than ever. More specifically, the required level was high with a lot of difficulties, but I felt some kind of happiness because I was able to work with respectable seniors and hard-working juniors. When I was in a difficult situation, they helped me, supported me even mentally, and gave me generous follow-up. I had such members to help and support each other in many ways.

In terms of work, based on my knowledge, skills, and know-how gained over ten years of experience, I paid attention to create drawings for higher efficiency and easier programming through standardization and arrangement. Also, since many electrical components were used in the project, I once again read through the instruction manuals of some devices, improved the way of using them, and deepened my knowledge of useful functions that I had not used before.

Moreover, in this project, I had an opportunity to work with people outside our company, and I was inspired by them for both work and life. I learned again that listening to many stories can develop the ability to look at things from different angles and help people acquire the ability to think from various perspectives. I think that seeing things from many sides allows us to have more options and reach the best solution.

For several months during the test operation, I stationed at the installation site. On holidays, I bought gloves and balls, and sometimes played catch in the park. That was one of my pleasant memories there.
Besides this project, I purchased a BBQ set during my stay there, and had a barbecue near the sea on a winter holiday, which was also a part of my fond memories.

My job has some challenging aspects that require efforts, but more than that, I am happy when I feel a rewarding sense or have a sense of accomplishment. Furthermore, I believe that a sense of satisfaction or accomplishment is not something that you are given, but that you look for by yourself. I hope that this website will be an entrance for the people who visited this website to find a sense of satisfaction or accomplishment for work in their own way in the future.
