Contributing to advanced technology with the latest coating and drying equipment

We offer a wide range of coating and floating technologies that make full use of various products such as high-performance coating machines and dryers.
Each product is made to order and supports all aspects of equipment design / manufacturing, equipment assembly / installation / test run. From the design of the device to the completion, we are a device maker full of charm of manufacturing that is created from scratch by craftsmanship.

As an engineer for adjustment of electrical instrumentation systems

I was involved in this project as an engineer for adjustment of electrical instrumentation systems at the installation site. I was mainly in charge of adjusting the unwind/rewind devices.
We conducted a test operation, with the aim of making the equipment safer and easier for production operators of the customer company to operate and maintain.
It was the largest equipment in scale I have ever worked on. Since there were so many check items, a lot of efforts were required to check and adjust, for example, to check whether specifications were met or interlocking worked properly.

The equipment we delivered to our customer for this project was different from the equipment we have been involved in so far, and I learned a lot of new things during the adjustment work. Even though I was in the position of an engineer, I can say that it was a good experience.

In terms of my life during the business trip, despite a long stay overseas, my days there were fulfilling. On holidays, for example, I played sports or went sightseeing with the business trip members of our company and the persons in charge in the customer company. I learned that establishing a good relationship with the business trip members of our company and the persons in charge in the customer company led to a creation of good equipment.

Electrical Engineering Department

As a person in charge of assembly and installation in the manufacturing department

I belong to the manufacturing department. The manufacturing department not only assembles our equipment, but also directs the construction (installation work) of installing the completed equipment at the customer’s facility.
The combined equipment in this project was huge, measured 80 m long when installed. Not a few devices in the equipment were our first products to design, including a 40 m long chemical processing facility. So, we installed the equipment by offering maximum performance with years of experience beyond the walls of sales, planning, materials, and manufacturing departments, for the customer who waited for the completion of the equipment.

What I paid particular attention to in this project was the progress of work while maintaining close communication with the customer, suppliers, local workers, interpreters, and other people involved. Once every two hours, we held a toolbox meeting with the persons in charge at each site to check problems and progress, and responded as quickly as possible when making corrections. Talking face to face and exchanging opinions frankly allowed all of us at the site to work facing in the same direction. I realized that the importance of communication may be universal, regardless of country or culture.

The assembling and installation work had countless difficulties. However, it was the most wonderful moment I had as a person in charge of manufacturing, when the huge equipment started working properly as planned, after all the members at the site made a lot of efforts to overcome the difficulties. I spent 100 days working in another country. In this project, I found the importance of communication and the treasure in working together with all members. I would like to pass them on to my juniors, and utilizing my know-how and experience gained through the project, contribute to advancement in our manufacturing technology.

Chief
Manufacturing Department

As a person in charge of ordering materials

In the past, I arranged many items which had no records of procurement or whose procurement price was high. For this project, I paid the most careful attention ever, particularly to items with no records, in terms of price negotiation, specification check, quality, delivery date management, and more. Since a delivery delay of a procured item directly affected the entire schedule of the project, the responsibility was heavy.

For example, in a situation where it was not easy for a supplier to meet the delivery date for a component of a certain device from the beginning, I frequently talked with the person in charge of the supplier and visited the supplier’s plant several times, to try to shorten the turnaround time in cooperation with the supplier. In addition, I coordinated the assembly process with the person in charge of the manufacturing department in our company, clarified the delivery timing required, and set priorities. As a result, we were able to ship the equipment without delay.

We successfully handled all other procured items also without delivery delay. Moreover, we believe that we could contribute to the profit through our elaborate price negotiations. I realized that, for large-scale projects like this, we can deliver the equipment meeting the customer requirements without delivery delay, by performing close Ho-Ren-So (reporting, communication, and consultation) with other related departments as well as the materials department, checking specifications, and controlling quality and process. This experience is now a part of our company’s useful know-how, which is shared by not only the persons in charge but also the whole of the materials department.
